About the Role: We are seeking a qualified and accredited Energy Assessor to join our growing in-house team. This role is central to expanding our capability in delivering energy efficiency services under UK government-backed schemes such as ECO4 and the Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS). The successful candidate will play a vital role in enabling us to move from subcontracting to direct contract delivery by bringing critical compliance-based functions in-house.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site Domestic Energy Assessments and Retrofit Assessments in accordance with TrustMark, PAS2035, and other regulatory frameworks.
- Collect accurate information about the property, such as insulation levels, heating systems, and overall energy use, using approved tools and software.
- Create official energy performance reports (EPCs) and recommend suitable energy-saving improvements.
- Liaise with property owners, tenants, and managing agents to carry out pre-installation assessments efficiently and professionally.
- Keep clear and organised records of each assessment to support future audits and compliance checks.
- Help the company improve its service quality by reviewing work, identifying gaps, and making practical suggestions for improvements.
Essential Requirements:
- Accredited Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) and/or Retrofit Assessor qualification.
- Certification under TrustMark or ability to gain TrustMark recognition upon hire.
- Proven knowledge of PAS2030 / PAS2035 frameworks and ECO4/GBIS scheme operations.
- Ability to work independently on site with professionalism, accuracy, and excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to domestic properties across the UK as required by project location.
Desirable Skills:
- Prior experience working with energy efficiency installations or within an ECO4 delivery model.
- Strong reporting and analytical skills; familiarity with data input platforms and mobile reporting apps.
- Additional language skills or experience working with vulnerable households is a plus.
